Our Story

Grace Community Service was founded in April 2011 as a gathering of volunteers who wanted to take part in homeless ministry. GCS grew out from and works closely with Grace Korean Church (A Korean-American mega-church founded in 1982) located in Fullerton, CA.

GCS exists to serve the needs of the Korean-Americans and the multi- ethnic community in the city of Fullerton and Orange County as well as the greater Southern California area. GCS was founded on the core values of loving all human beings and valuing human life. GCS sees the needs of the vulnerable--such as the homeless, developmentally challenged children, those experiencing cancer, and other disadvantaged people. GCS believes that equipping the disadvantaged is important. GCS aims to support the disadvantaged groups who need social safety nets in the community to help them to stand up on their feet. A struggle we have noticed is that Korean nonprofit organizations fall short of this social responsibility to reach out to the non-Korean local community because they are mainly focused on serving other Koreans. GCS is unique in that it is one of the few organization that breaks the Korean ethnic barrier with a compassionate heart for meeting the needs of the local community, crossing the borders of ethnicity.
